Great intro text to Empathy (Einfuhlung)

The introduction to this book is very dense and, well, German. It begins with an overview of the Kantian aesthetic and Hegelian shifts. Moing on to an excellent overview of the late nineteenth century covering the thought of many different writers as they all converge on the three topics in the title: empathy, Form, and space.
Highly recommended for graduate students interested in empathy studies and art historians as well since so much of art history (esp. Wolfflin) is influenced by the tradition of empathy studies. The six sections are devoted each to a selection from each writer:
Robert Vischer "On the Optical Sense of Form: A Contribution to Aesthetics"
Conrad Fiedler Observation on the Nature and History of Architecture
Heinrich Wolfflin Prolegomena to a Psychology of Architecture
